Large item pick-up is scheduled to begin 9/12. Items must be placed curbside by 7:00 am to ensure pick-up. Pick-up will occur by ward, starting in Ward 1 and will proceed sequentially through each ward thereafter. Once crews have made their way down a street, they will not return. Large item pick-up is independent of normal refuse/recycling pick-up, and will not follow the normal collection day/route.
This collection is conducted to pick-up furniture, appliances, and similar household items which are too heavy, or of such composition or configuration, that they cannot be handled by the refuse truck. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers WILL NOT be picked up. Mattresses/box springs will be collected for a fee of $25.00 for the first mattress or box spring and $15.00 per mattress or box spring thereafter up to a total of 3. The fee must be paid prior to collection at the Public Works Department, 304 N. Church St. Please note that mattress/box spring collection is provided anytime of the year.
