Brush Collection – Schedule between May 1-13

The window to schedule a May brush collection is open until May 13.  Residents requesting brush collection should call 419-354-6227 no later than May 13 so that they may be added to the list of locations where crews will stop.  Collection is scheduled to begin on May 20.

As a reminder, Brush Collection will occur during the 3rd week of April, May, September and October.  Residents simply need to call Public Works by the 2nd Monday of the respective month to schedule a brush collection.  Current restrictions for brush collection remain – such as the size of tree limbs and no yard waste (grass clippings).

Residents are encouraged to visit the City’s website for more information and details.  Information about this special collection may be found on the Public Works Division webpage or residents may call Public Works at 419-354-6227.

News from ODOT

In conjunction with the I-75/Wooster Street roundabout project, through August lane restrictions will be in effect.

Through May 19, westbound traffic along Wooster Street over I-75 will be closed.  The established detour route will be Dunbridge, Poe, Mercer.  Eastbound traffic will be maintained.  The ramp from Wooster Street to northbound I-75 will also be closed.  The established detour for getting onto northbound I-75 will be Dunbridge, US 6.

Beginning Monday, May 20 through July, Wooster Street in both directions will be closed over I-75.  The established detour will be Dunbridge, Poe, Mercer.

3rd Annual BG Ride of Silence – May 15

On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 7:00 PM, The 3rd Bowling Green Ride of Silence will start and end at City Park, located just off Conneaut Avenue (parking provided near the pool).  The ride will cover 8 miles, no faster than 12 MPH, with escort provided by Bowling Green City Police and BGSU Campus Police.  Helmets are required. This event is free and open to the public and no registration is required. The ride will depart promptly at 7PM after a short presentation; participants should arrive by 6:30PM.
