Construction Update – Downtown Utility Project
The contractor working in the downtown has transitioned to installing water service lines, installing a gravity sanitary sewer line, and replacing manholes in the near future. In order to keep the project on schedule and to ensure the paving contractor is not delayed, certain road closures is required.
East Wooster will be closed to traffic from Main Street to Prospect through Thursday, May 16. This closure is required to replace 3 manholes within the block. It is anticipated the road will reopen by 5:00 pm on May 16. During the closure, traffic and parking will be prohibited.
Beginning Monday, May 20, work will commence on installing a gravity sewer and making water service line connections along South Main Street, from Wooster to Ordway. Throughout this work, South Main will be closed within the work zone which will stretch block to block. Once water service line connections are made, a water boil advisory will occur for the affected properties.
During both closures, local traffic will be detoured around the area using side streets. Truck traffic will be detoured around the outer belt of the city using Poe Road, Thurstin Ave/Manville, and Napoleon Road.
The utility portion of this project is anticipated to last through the spring of 2019. Once complete, a contractor will repave the downtown.

eNews is upgrading!
The weekly community electronic newsletter will soon look a little different and will be provided by a different service provider. The City will be transitioning from “TinyLetter” to “Constant Contact” as the service provider of the eNews. There will be no change from the users perspective (except for the new look). All user information will be transferred to Constant Contact with future deliveries occurring on Wednesday’s as usual.
