Lunch in the Park
The Lunch in the Park series continues this Friday, June 10th from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Martin and Kiwanis Shelters in City Park. Panera Bread will have lunch for sale and Ragtime Rick & Banjo Betsy will provide the musical entertainment. Come and enjoy the Park!
Buckeye Boys State
Buckeye Boys State will occur June 12-19 on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The 1,250 high school delegates will begin to arrive on June 12 – with registration occurring from noon to 1:30 pm. Increased traffic may occur on East Wooster, Thurstin/Manville, and Mercer during the June 12 move-in and June 19 move-out.
Concert in the Park
The summer Concert in the Park series begins June 12 with the Bowling Green Area Community Bands. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm on City Park’s Needle Hall Stage. This is a FREE family friendly event! Title sponsor for the series is B.G. Transit, and supporting sponsors are BGSU Division of Student Affairs and Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices.

Flag Day – Pause for the Pledge
The City of Bowling Green will hold its annual “Pause for the Pledge” ceremony on Flag Day, Tuesday, June 14 at 10:00 am near the Wood County Senior Center, 305 North Main Street in Bowling Green. During the program, Mayor Edwards will read a proclamation and the Pledge of Allegiance will be recited. Additionally, the City will participate in Wood County Job and Family Services Elder Abuse Awareness program, which will also occur at the Senior Center immediately following the Pause for the Pledge.
All citizens are invited to participate.
Art in the Park
The Bowling Green Arts Council and Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department will host the second annual Art in the Park at Simpson Garden Park, 1291 Conneaut Avenue, on Friday, June 10 from 4:30-7:30 pm. The event will feature artists at work in the park, local musicians and music from the BGSU College of Musical Arts, and theater performances by the Black Swamp Players and Horizon Youth Theatre. There will also be refreshments and activities for children, as well as a chance to work on a community mosaic project with stained glass artist Gail Christofferson.
This event is FREE for all to attend.
