City to “Pause for the Pledge”

The City of Bowling Green will hold its annual “Pause for the Pledge” ceremony on Flag Day, Thursday, June 14 at 10:00 am near the Wood County Senior Center, 305 North Main Street in Bowling Green.  During the program, Mayor Edwards will read a proclamation and the Pledge of Allegiance will be recited.

Additionally, the City will participate in Wood County Job and Family Services Elder Abuse Awareness program, which will also occur at the Senior Center.

Refuse/Recycling Address Labels

The Public Works Department has contracted with GIS Landmark to place address labels on all refuse and recycling containers that are picked up by the City.  This work will begin in Wards 1 and 2 on June 13.  Residents are asked to help in this effort by placing containers – full or empty – at the curb so that the GIS Landmark crews can affix the label beginning with collection on June 13 and continue to do so until a label has been placed.

The address label is a black sticker with orange letters approximately 3 inches by 7 inches.  Each sticker will associate a particular container with the address it is registered to.  This work is being done to ensure proper tracking of containers so individual properties are not assessed an incorrect amount for the refuse/recycling fee.

Questions about this work may be directed to the Public Works Department at 419-354-6227.
