Upcoming Public Meetings:

  • Board of Public Utilities is scheduled to meet June 25 at 5:00 pm in Council Chamber, 304 N. Church St.
  • Parks and Recreation Board is scheduled to meet June 26 at 7:00 pm at the Scout Building located within City Park, 520 Conneaut Ave.

City of Bowling Green Kicks Off Monthly Bike Rides in June

The first of a series of themed “slow roll” bike rides will kick off Sunday, June 24th at 2:00 pm.  This ride titled, Just Chillin’, will include a stop at the Black Swamp Preserve for a brief presentation from Naturalist Cinda Stutzman on “How Animals Stay Cool in the Heat” and an additional stop for ice cream, provided by the Sundae Station, to help you stay cool in the heat.  All participants will receive a free day pass to the City Pool after completion of the ride.

Bowling Green Community Fireworks Information

The Bowling Green Community Fireworks will be held on July 3 at dusk at the Bowling Green State University Intramural Fields.

Prior to the fireworks display, the Bowling Green Area Community Bands will perform a free patriotic-themed concert near the BGSU Mileti Alumni Center beginning at 8:00 pm.  Parking will be available at the Stroh Center and Ice Arena.

Tree Commission Photo Contest

The Tree Commission’s inaugural photo contest is underway!  The Commission’s goal is to raise awareness of Bowling Green’s Urban Forest – found both on public and private property.  Throughout 2018, interested citizens are asked to submit photos highlighting trees in three seasons of the year: spring, summer, and fall.
