- City Council is scheduled hold a public hearing on August 1 at 6:45 pm in Council Chamber. The public hearing is scheduled for ordinance 8524 and 8525, both are proposed zoning code changes. City Council will hold its regularly scheduled business meeting at 7:00 pm in Council Chamber.
Lunch in the Park
The final 2016 Lunch in the Park is this Friday, July 29! The lunch feature is Pagliai’s and the musical performance will be Spittin’ Image! Lunch will be available for sale from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Andy Open Youth Golf Tournament
Registration is still open for the Andy Open Youth Golf Tournament on Wednesday, August 3rd at the Bowling Green Country Club. The 11th Annual Andy Open is a Youth Golf Tournament for ages 6-18 with different divisions for boys and girls and ages. Tee times start as early as 8:30 am. In addition to golf, each participant will receive a hot dog lunch, T-shirt and a ribbon; certificates will be awarded to the top finishers of each division. The resident rate is $13 and the non-resident rate is $16. A $6.00 late registration fee will be applied to registrations received after July 30, so register today! Participants must have experience playing golf or at least attended a golf skills clinic, must provide their own golf clubs and balls, and must be able to carry their own golf bag. Participants will walk and carry their own bags for 9 holes. Parents are encouraged to escort participants on the course.

B.G. Transit Public Hearing
A public hearing will be held in the Council Chamber at the City Administrative Building, 304 N. Church St., Bowling Green (an accessible location) on August 16, 2016 at 1:15 pm for public comment. The City of Bowling Green is applying to the Ohio Department of Transportation for an operating and capital assistance grant under 49 U.S.C. Section 5311 of the Federal Transit Laws, as codified, and the Ohio Public Transportation Grant Program.
The operating grant will provide financial assistance for public transportation service within the city limits of Bowling Green in CY 2017. The service currently operates Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. It is recommended that all passengers, including wheelchair users, schedule their ride 1 hour in advance. For rides originating and ending in Bowling Green’s corporation limits, fares are $3.50 per one-way trip; elderly, disabled and children ages 4 to 13 ride for $1.75 per one-way trip (with a City-issued transit ID card), and package fare is $1.75. For those rides originating and/or ending outside the corporation limits (up to one mile outside city limits), fares will be $4.00 per one-way trip; elderly, disabled and children ages 4 to 13 ride for $2.00 with a City-issued transit ID card (package fare is $2.00). Children under 4, passengers’ language interpreters and personal care attendants ride free regardless of where the rides originate or end. No service changes are proposed.
