Columbia Gas update

Columbia Gas of Ohio has provided the City with the following tentative work schedule.

The installation of natural gas lines will continue within City Parking Lot 1 this week.  As previously released, the western most parking spaces within City Parking Lot 1 (closest to Main St.) will be marked no parking while installation of the natural gas line occurs.  The remainder of the parking lot will remain open and accessible.

Natural gas service lines will continue to be installed in the vicinity of the 200 block of North Main Street along the west side of the street.  Traffic patterns and parking may be impacted during this work.

Crews will remain on Main St., from Clay to Oak St. restoring pavement and sidewalk conditions as well as soft surfaces affected by the installation of the natural gas line.  Once this portion of Main St. has been restored, crews will move onto East Oak restoring pavement and sidewalks within the work zone.

Questions about the Columbia Gas project should be directed to Raquel Colon, External Affairs Specialist for Columbia Gas.  Ms. Colon may be reached at rcolon@nisource.com or 419-539-6206.

2018 Citizens Academy

The City of Bowling Green cordially invites interested residents to sign up and participate in the 2018 Citizens Academy.  The Academy is scheduled to meet 8 times on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from August 14 until November 27.  Each session will take place at a different City facility from 6:30-8:00 pm.

The Academy is organized to give residents a “behind the scenes” look into City operations.  Various facility tours such as the Water Treatment Plant and Police and Fire Stations will be provided as well as meeting City staff and elected officials.  Each session will focus on a different aspect of City operations – including organizational structure, safety, utilities, public works, sustainability, and much more.

The class is set at 25, so those interested are encouraged to sign up!  Visit the Citizens Academy page on the City’s homepage.  Residents may also call the Mayor/Municipal Administrator’s Office for more information at 419-354-6204.
