Upcoming Public Meetings:

  • Taxicab Review Board is scheduled to meet April 22 at 8:30 am in Council Chamber, 304 N. Church St.

State of the City

The State of the City address will be presented on April 28 at 8:00 am in the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St.  Mayor Richard Edwards, President of City Council Michael Aspacher, Municipal Administrator Lori Tretter and others will provide an overview of City operations and 2015 year-end financial information.  The doors open at 7:30 am for light refreshments.

The event is sponsored by the City Administration, Biggby Coffee, Frontier Communications, the Wood County District Public Library, the Bowling Green Community Development Foundation, and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce.

Earth Day

A Community Earth Day Celebration is scheduled on April 24 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Montessori School of Bowling Green, 515 Sand Ridge Rd.  This FREE family event has nature science education stations and much more.  Visit the Community Earth Day website for more information.

BGSU Speech and Hearing Clinic

The BGSU Speech and Hearing Clinic is offering FREE hearing and speech/language screenings for children and adults of all ages.  The screenings are available at the Clinic until April 22.  Call for an appointment at 419-372-2515.

Highway to Health

On April 27 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, the Parks and Recreation Department along with the Wood County Committee on Aging, Health District, Wood County Hospital and the BGSU Gerontology Department present “Your Highway to Health 50+ Health and Wellness Expo!”  The event will take place at the Community Center, 1245 W. Newton Rd, and will feature FREE health screenings, fitness demonstrations, and much more.

Prescription Drug Take Back program

On April 30 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the Bowling Green Police Division and the Drug Enforcement Administration will assist the public by providing prescription disposal at the main entrance of the Wood County Hospital, 950 W. Wooster St.  The DEA can only accept pills and patches.  This FREE service is anonymous and no questions will be asked.
