The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will be making its way through Bowling Green on Wednesday, June 21st. This will be the 31st year for the event.
BGPD has assisted with escorting the torch through the city for many years. The escort will be carried out by marked police cruisers, motorcycles and bike officers. No road closures will occur in conjunction with this event.
The torch will be coming from the Hollywood Casino in the morning and will make it to BG around 11:00 am. Below is the anticipated schedule:
11:00 am – Leave Thayer Ford
11:30 am – Arrive at Kroger
11:45 am – Leave Kroger
12:00 pm – Arrive at Wood County Court House
12:45 pm – Leave court house
12:50 pm – Stop at BGPD
12:55 pm – Leave BGPD
1:20 pm – Arrive at Wal-Mart
After arriving at Wal-Mart the Torch will be driven to North Baltimore.
Runners will be in one lane and will take the following route:
- Route 25 to Kroger
- N. Main to Ridge St
- Ridge to N. Summit
- N. Summit to E. Court
- E. Court to N. Main
- N. Main to W. Wooster
- W. Wooster to S. Church
- S. Church to Pearl
- Pearl to S. Main
