City of Bowling Green Application Process

WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

WATER SUPPLY DIVISION

(Pay Grade 5: $20.81 to $26.58 per hour)

(With a Class III OEPA Certification: Pay Grade 6: $21.85 TO $27.90 per hour)

 This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation and maintenance of the City’s Water Treatment Plant. Perform laboratory analyses; oversee plant operations; collect and test water samples; inspect the plant and equipment, and make necessary adjustments; ensure proper levels of clearwell and water towers; record chemical feed amounts, meter readings, plant flow; maintain records; cleans and paints; train employees; perform preventive maintenance — both electrical and mechanical; handle hazardous and toxic chemicals; conduct tours; perform other related duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent; three to five years of relevant experience required. Must be able to obtain a Class I OEPA Water Treatment Certification within 2 years of hire and obtain Chemical Analysis Certification. Hourly position responsible for oversight of the operation of the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring effluent quality and proper/efficient plant operation. Works both indoors & outdoors; works alone; irregular work schedules; must be available to work shift work, weekends, and holidays.   High school diploma or equivalent; Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) Wastewater Treatment Certifications preferred; valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License required or must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire; must obtain a Class I OEPA Wastewater Treatment Certification within two (2) years of hire; 3 – 5 years of relevant experience. The Bowling Green City Pool and Water Park is seeking a Swim Program Director, Aquatic Assistant Managers, Concession Managers, Concession/Pool Attendants, certified Lifeguards, certified Water Safety Instructors (WSI), and Swim Aides to join the 2019 summer staff. Pay Range $8.55 – $11.00 per hour depending on position. These are part-time, temporary positions without fringe benefits. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends from mid-May to mid-September.

The City of Bowling Green’s Parks & Recreation department is seeking qualified, dependable individuals for the positions of Special Programmer/Gym Monitor for the Bowling Green Training and Community Center. Ensures compliance with Group Use of the Gyms policy, monitors gym use, enforces gym and Community Center rules, helps move hoops up and down as requested, assists with gym set up and tear down for leagues and special events, performs light custodial maintenance and cleaning. Employee will be cross-trained on the front desk to provide support as needed Must be at least 18 years of age. Previous experience in a gym helpful. Must be able to work under general supervision and have ability to lift 50 pounds. Must hold valid Ohio driver’s license and have First Aid and CPR certifications. Fall Programmer,

Parks & Recreation, Temporary Part-Time Averages 6-10 hours per week

Rate of pay $8.55 – 9.65 per hour

 The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an individual to join the fall programming staff and work with youth girls and boys ages 3 ½ through 14.   The position will require flexible availability both mornings and afternoons with mainly weekend and some evening assignments.  The hours for this temporary position will average 6-10 per week. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, organizing and teaching/coaching multiple sport and recreational activities; and scorekeeping and officiating. Background in basketball and volleyball helpful; and a genuine interest in working with youth is needed.

 REQUIREMENTS:  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with training or practical experience in working with youth, and must have the ability to relate to and motivate young children.  Applicants must have a reliable source of transportation.
