City of Bowling Green Application Process

Full-Time and Non-Temporary Part-Time Positions

PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT
City of Bowling Green, Ohio
(Pay Band 6: $62,337 to $86,694)

This full-time, salaried, exempt position is responsible for oversight of the daily activities of the Public Works Division. Directs and coordinates work activities of all Division personnel; plans work projects; ensures work complies with established policy; participates in personnel matters (hiring/disciplinary, labor relations); oversees street maintenance functions; oversees solid waste and recycling programs; oversees signs and street painting; oversees buildings & grounds maintenance; assists citizens; assists other divisions and employees; orders supplies for Division functions; confers with Public Works Director about annual budget; attends meetings; and performs other related duties as assigned. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, and is subject to pressure from deadlines. Two-year college certificate or equivalent; one to three years of relevant management experience; valid Ohio Driver’s License. A copy of the job description is available by clicking here. PROGRAMMER / PROGRAM SUPERVISOR Fall Programs

 $8.55 to $9.65 per hour

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an individual to join the fall programming staff and work with youth girls and boys ages 3 ½ through 14. The position will require flexible availability both mornings and afternoons with mainly weekend and some evening assignments. The hours for this temporary position will average 6-10 per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, organizing and teaching/coaching multiple sport and recreational activities; and scorekeeping and officiating. Background in basketball and volleyball helpful; and a genuine interest in working with youth is needed.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with training or practical experience in working with youth, and must have the ability to relate to and motivate young children. Applicants must have a reliable source of transportation.

Seasonal Park Laborer/Maintenance

Temporary, Part-Time

The City of Bowling Green’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking qualified, dependable individuals for its summer part-time seasonal maintenance staff. Pay range $8.55- $11.25 per hour, no fringe benefits.   Must be able to work flexible schedule up to 40 hours per week for the full term of the temporary employment including evening and weekends. Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Experience with building custodial, grounds, aquatic facility, small tractor and/or softball field maintenance beneficial. INFORMATION REGARDING HIRING ENTRY-LEVEL POLICE OFFICER & FIREFIGHTER/EMT/EMT-I/PARAMEDIC

The City of Bowling Green is not accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic at this time.

The City is not accepting applications for Police Officer at this time.

  • Police Officer –  Age requirement for Police Officer  shall be in accordance with Section 124.41 of the Ohio Revised Code. Credit for military service shall be in accordance with Section 7.01 of the City’s Charter.
  • Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic –  Age requirement for Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic shall be in accordance with Section 124.42 of the Ohio Revised Code.   Credit for military service shall be in accordance with Section 7.01 of the City’s Charter.
