City of Bowling Green Application Process

WATER DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

WATER DISTRIBUTION AND WASTEWATER COLLECTION DIVISION

(BGEO Pay Grade 5: $20.81 – $26.58 per hour)

 Hourly position responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing waterlines, valves, hydrants and service lines. Make pressurized taps on waterlines; bore lines; install, repair, locate waterlines; install, repair, and flush hydrants; exercise valves; locate leaks; install meters; operate excavator, backhoe, dump truck, and other equipment; repair asphalt, concrete, and lawns; maintain vehicles/equipment; assist with updating GIS. Work performed outdoors in wet environment in prevailing weather conditions. Job description provided. High school diploma or equivalent; Commercial Driver’s License (Class A with Tanker Endorsement) required; fork-lift certification; Class I OEPA Water Certification required within two years of hire; one to three years of relevant experience.  The job description is available by clicking here.

CIVIL ENGINEER

Engineering Division

Pay Band 5: $56,097 to $82,368

Salaried exempt position assists City Engineer with supervision of activities of the Engineering Division; plan, design, review plans; project management of infrastructure improvements including transportation, drainage, waterline and sanitary sewers. Reviews plans of private & public improvements; oversees planning, design, and management of public works projects; supervises project inspection; attends committee meetings at TMACOG, etc. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ohio preferred; five to seven years of relevant experience; and must have a current Ohio Driver’s License.  The job description is available by clicking here.

Programmer-Fall Programs

Temporary Position: Averages 6-10 hours per week

Rate of pay $8.30 – 9.25 per hour

 The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an individual to join the fall programming staff and work with youth girls and boys ages 3 ½ through 14.   The position will require flexible availability both mornings and afternoons with mainly weekend and some evening assignments.  The hours for this temporary position will average 6-10 per week. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, organizing and teaching/coaching multiple sport and recreational activities; and scorekeeping and officiating. Background in basketball and volleyball helpful; and a genuine interest in working with youth is needed.

 REQUIREMENTS:  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with training or practical experience in working with youth, and must have the ability to relate to and motivate young children.  Applicants must have a reliable source of transportation.
