The application must be completed and returned to the Personnel Department by the deadline established in the advertisement. You may also obtain an application packet by visiting the Personnel Department during regular business hours, which are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. In accordance with the public records laws of Ohio, applicant identities and application materials cannot be considered confidential. It is the City’s practice to accept employment applications only when specific job vacancies are available. Part-Time Seasonal Positions for BG City Pool and Water Park

Bowling Green Parks & Recreation

The Bowling Green City Pool and Water Park is seeking a Swim Program Director, Aquatic Assistant Managers, Concession Managers, Concession/Pool Attendants, certified Lifeguards, certified Water Safety Instructors (WSI), and Swim Aides to join the 2020 summer staff.  Pay Range $8.70 – $11.15 per hour depending on position. These are part-time, temporary positions without fringe benefits. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends from mid-May to mid-September.

PROGRAMMER / PROGRAM SUPERVISOR SPORTS PROGRAMS

Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Department

 $8.70 to $9.80 per hour

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an individual to join the programming staff and work with youth girls and boys ages 3 ½ through 14. The position will require flexible availability both afternoons and evenings with mainly weekend assignments. The hours for this temporary position will average 6-25 per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, organizing and teaching/coaching multiple sport and recreational activities, sport camps; and scorekeeping and officiating. Background in basketball, baseball/softball and volleyball is helpful as well as a general knowledge of other youth sports; and a genuine interest in working with youth is needed.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with training or practical experience in working with youth, and must have the ability to relate to and motivate young children. Applicants must have a reliable source of transportation.

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking motivated outgoing individuals to be a part of the Community Center Fitness and Kiwanis Kids Club team as Programmers working as Fitness Desk Representatives, Kiwanis Kids Club Staff and Special Programmers working as Certified Personal Trainers! The responsibilities of these positions include greeting patrons, assisting patrons with exercise, caring for children, cleaning fitness equipment, ensuring rules are being followed, and providing first class customer service. These positions are part-time temporary positions staffed through a temporary agency with no fringe benefits.

INFORMATION REGARDING HIRING ENTRY-LEVEL POLICE OFFICER & FIREFIGHTER/EMT/EMT-I/PARAMEDIC

The City of Bowling Green is not accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic at this time.

The City is not accepting applications for Police Officer at this time.

  • Police Officer –  Age requirement for Police Officer  shall be in accordance with Section 124.41 of the Ohio Revised Code. Credit for military service shall be in accordance with Section 7.01 of the City’s Charter.
  • Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic –  Age requirement for Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic shall be in accordance with Section 124.42 of the Ohio Revised Code.   Credit for military service shall be in accordance with Section 7.01 of the City’s Charter.
