Start Smart T-ball

Location: Eli Joyce Diamond in City Park

 

 

Developmentally appropriate introductory program for children ages three to five years old that prepares them for organized T-Ball/Baseball in a fun, non-threatening environment.  This program prepares children and their parents for organized T-ball/baseball programs without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.  Parents and children work one-on-one during this six week class.  Children will receive a Start Smart Tball Shirt.  The program will be held at Eli Joyce Ball Diamond in City Park.  In case of inclement weather, the program will be held indoors at The Bowling Green Community Center (1245 W. Newton Road).   A facilitator will be on hand.

 

Youth T-ball

Location: Eli Joyce Fields at City Park

Ages: 5-6
Dates: 5/14/18 – 7/25/18
Times: 5:00PM – 7:00PM
Cost (Res/NRes): $51/$60
$6 late fee after 5/7/18

Youth T-ball program for children ages 5-6 (must be 5 by 5/14/18).  Each participant will receive a cap and t-shirt.    Participants must bring their own ball glove.   Other equipment is provided, however participants may be allowed to bring their own Tball bats and helmets (if approved).  Practices leading up to games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at either 5PM or later beginning May 14th.  Practices will be 45 minutes long.  T-ball games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning June 4th.  Game times are 5PM or later (subject to change based on the number of teams). Games are subject to rainouts and makeup games will be scheduled for the week of July 23rd.  Volunteer coaches are needed. Any volunteer coaches must attend the coaches meeting  on Wednesday, May 2nd at 6PM, located at the Bowling Green Community Center (Classroom A).  Coaches are asked to complete and application and pass background checks prior to coaching.

 

Youth Softball 7-8

Youth Softball program for children ages 7-8 (must be 7 by 5/15/18) will consist of machine pitch.  Each participant will receive a cap and t-shirt.  Participants must bring their own ball glove.  Other equipment is provided, however participants may be allowed to bring their own youth bats and helmet with a mask (if approved). Practices leading up to games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5PM or later beginning May 15th.  Additional skills training and batting practice will be provided for participants throughout the season (see flyer for more details).  Softball games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at either 5PM or later (subject to change based on the number of teams).  Games are subject to rainouts and makeup games will be scheduled for the week of July 23rd .  Volunteer coaches are needed. Lacrosse Skills Camp

Dates: 4/16/18 – 5/10/18
Times: 5:30PM – 6:30PM

Boys and girls will participate twice a week in this introductory lacrosse program.  This program will introduce the game of lacrosse to participants in ages 7-12 through fun activities and games.  Players will be taught rules, terminology and basic fundamentals of the game (how to scoop, toss, catch and cradle).  Participants are asked to bring outdoor tennis shoes and a water bottle.   Starter sticks and other equipment are provided or participants may bring their own.  Program will be instructed by BGSU men’s club lacrosse players.

5th-12th grade boys and girls can prepare for upcoming basketball seasons with instructor, Steve Cramer this fall. This 8 week, 75 minute program includes basketball specific conditioning, high intensity skill development and game play.
Learn proven game applicable moves
• Manipulate defensive players off the ball and in triple threat
• Learn specific moves to finish around the basket against tough defenders
• Creating your own workout
• Develop proper shooting technique and game situation drills
• Jump Rope basics and improving quickness
• Advanced and beginner game situations reads.
• And more…Participants are asked to bring basketball shoes and a positive working attitude. Participants who give their best effort will receive improved results! All players will receive a FREE jump rope and $10 off any Cramer Basketball Camp the summer of 2018!  NOTE: If unable to make every session contact Coach Cramer regarding a possible makeup.
8th grade athletes have the choice to attend either group.

 

 

 

 

Spring D-League Soccer

Location:   Dunbridge Soccer Fields

Developmental league will be managed by the Bowling Green Soccer Club.  Participants will learn from current division one college players and coaches and have fun in the process!  Program length is seven week.  Participants will begin practice on 3/26/28 and games will begin on 4/7/18.  All practices will be held at Dunbridge Field.  3 and 4 year olds practice Mondays 5:30-6:15Pm and games will be on Saturdays at 9AM.  5 and 6 year olds practice Mondays 6:35-7:30PM and games will be on Saturdays at 10:15AM.  7 through 9 year olds practice Mondays 5:30-6:15PM and games will be on Saturdays at 9AM.  10 through 14 year olds practice Mondays 6:35-7:30PM and games will be on Saturdays at 10:15AM.  Volunteers are also welcome to be involved as coaches/assistants during games and practices.  Players are required to wear shin guards and bring their own soccer balls to practice and games.  Cost includes t-shirt.
