Youth Volleyball

Location: Bowling Green Community Center

Introduction to Volleyball Skills Clinic

Dates: 3/6/19 – 4/10/19
Times: 5:15PM – 6:00PM
Ages: 3-5
Cost (Res/NRes): $46/$55

Developmentally appropriate introductory program for children three to five years old that prepares them for organized volleyball in a fun, non-threatening environment.  This program prepares children and their parents for organized volleyball programs without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.  Parents and children work one-on-one during this six week class.  Children will receive a t-shirt.  Parents and children who are participating must bring a clean pair of  tennis shoes for this program.  Program will be held at The Bowling Green Community Center.  A facilitator will be on hand.

 

Volleyball Skills K-2

Dates: 3/14/19 – 4/18/19
Times: 5:00PM – 6:00PM
Grades: K-2
Cost (Res/NRes): $44/$53

Boys and girls will participate one time/week in this introductory volleyball program.  This program will introduce the game of volleyball to participants in grades K-2 through fun activities and games.  Players will be taught rules, terminology and basic fundamentals of the game.  Participants are asked to wear a clean pair of tennis shoes.  All participants will receive a t-shirt.  Program will be instructed by BGSU women’s club volleyball players.

 

3rd & 4th Grade Youth Volleyball Leagues

Dates: 3/11/19 – 5/11/19
Times: 4:00PM – 8:00PM
Grades: 3 & 4
Cost (Res/NRes): $53/$62
($6 Late Fee after 3/5/19)

This league will consist of one practice per week and Saturday games. The Youth Volleyball League is for children currently in grades 3-6.  The league will be split into two divisions (3rd and 4th grade, 5th and 6th grade).  The skills clinic assessments dates are Thursday, February 21st 6:30-7:30PM OR Tuesday, March 5th 5:30-6:30PM for 3rd-4th graders (choose to attend one).  Practice nights of availability for 3rd-4th graders are Mondays 4,5,6 or 7PM.  Practices will begin the week of March 11th.  Games begin March 30th and the last date for games is Saturday, May 11th.  Players are required to bring knee pads and a clean pair of tennis shoes.  Each participant will receive a t-shirt.  There are no games Easter weekend (April 20th).  $6 late fee will be assessed after the 3/5/19 registration deadline (requests not guaranteed).  Volunteer Coaches are needed for this program. Coaches are trained through the NYSCA program at the Bowling Green Community Center in classroom A/B (Thursday, February 28th at 7PM).

 

5th & 6th Grade Youth Volleyball Leagues

5th-8th grade boys and girls can prepare for upcoming basketball seasons with instructor, Steve Cramer this fall. This 4 week, or 8 week 60 minute program includes basketball specific conditioning, high intensity skill development and game play.

• Manipulate defensive players off the ball and in triple threat
• Learn specific moves to finish around the basket against tough defenders
• Develop proper shooting technique and game situation drills
• Jump Rope basics and improving quickness
• Advanced and beginner game situation reads.

NOTE: If unable to make every session contact Coach Cramer regarding a possible makeup.
8th grade athletes have the choice to attend either group.

Youth Flag Football

Location: Bowling Green Community Center Athletic Fields

Dates: 4/5/19 – 5/24/19

Ages: 8 – 12 years
Cost (Res/NRes): $45/$54

This is an 8 week program, on Fridays, for both boys and girls ages 8-12, which will introduce the game of flag football. This program is skills & scrimmage based where participants will learn both rules and terminology of flag football, also including fundamentals from various activities and friendly scrimmages at the end of each practice. All participants will receive a special NFL Flag jersey with their favorite NFL team of choice and their own personal flag belt. Once the program is completed, participants will also receive a certificate of achievement signed by both Roger Goodell and Scott Hallenbeck. Its suggested that participants bring both indoor and outdoor shoes.

 

 

D-League Soccer (Spring)

Location: Dunbridge Soccer Fields

D-League Flyer

Developmental league to be managed by the Bowling Green Soccer Club.   Participants will learn from current division one college players and coaches and have fun in the process!  Program length is seven weeks.  Practices will begin on 4/1/19 and games will begin on 4/6/19.  All practices and games will be held at Dunbridge Field.  3 and 4 year olds practice Mondays 5:30-6:15PM and games will be on Saturdays at 9AM.    5 and 6 year olds practice Mondays 6:35-7:30PM and games will be on Saturdays at 10:15AM.  7 through 9 year olds practice Mondays 5:30PM-6:30PM and games will be on Saturdays at 9AM.  10 through 14 year olds practice Mondays 6:35-7:45PM and games will be on Saturdays at 10:15AM.  Volunteers are also welcome to be involved as coaches/assistants during games and practices. Players are required to wear shin guards and bring their own soccer ball to practices and games.  Cost includes t-shirt.

Youth T-Ball

 

Youth T-ball program for children ages 5-6 (must be 5 by 5/14/19).  Each participant will receive a cap and t-shirt.    Participants must bring their own ball glove.   Other equipment is provided, however participants may be allowed to bring their own Tball bats and helmets (if approved).  Practices leading up to games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at either 5PM or later beginning May 13th.  Practices will be 45 minutes long.  T-ball games will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays (at 5:15 or 6pm start times) beginning June 4th.  Times are subject to change based on the number of teams. Games are subject to rainouts and makeup games will be scheduled for the week of July 22nd.  Volunteer coaches are needed. Any volunteer coaches must attend the coaches meeting  on Wednesday, May 1st at 6PM, located at the Bowling Green Community Center (Classroom A).  Coaches are asked to complete and application and pass background checks prior to coaching.

 

Youth Softball

 

Youth Softball program for children ages 7-12 (must be of age by 5/14/19) will consist of machine pitch.  Each participant will receive a cap and t-shirt.  Participants must bring their own ball glove.  Other equipment is provided, however participants may be allowed to bring their own youth bats and helmet with a mask (if approved). Practices leading up to games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5PM or later beginning May 13th.  Additional skills training and batting practice will be provided for participants throughout the season (see flyer for more details).  Softball games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at either 5PM or later (subject to change based on the number of teams) beginning June 3rd.  Games are subject to rainouts and makeup games will be scheduled for the week of July 23rd .  Volunteer coaches are needed. Any volunteer coaches must attend the coaches meeting  on Wednesday, May 1st,  at 6PM, located at the Bowling Green Community Center (Classroom A).  Coaches are asked to complete an application and pass background checks prior to coaching.
