This additional service can be used by any of our day campers, whether they are signed up for AM, PM or both. There is a $5.00 fee that covers the entire week. Refrigerator space is available to store lunches and drinks.

Afternoon Day Camps

Have your child get to experience a little of everything that Bowling Green Parks & Recreation has to offer in this weekly afternoon camp offered at City Park and get to enjoy plenty of supervised fun at the BG City Pool and Waterpark (weather permitting).  Each day of the week has a different theme.  All camps run Monday-Friday 1pm-5pm.  Kids will report to the Veteran’s Building each day and go to that day’s activities from there as a group.

Variety Week Camp

BG Parks and Recreation has a lot to offer and this camp showcases plenty of it!  Each day of the week has a different theme and location.  Parents are responsible for dropping kids off at locations.

2018 Summer Multi-Sport Camp

 

Ages: 7-12

Come out to the air conditioned Community Center and have some fun learning and practicing various sports. Participants will be exposed to the fundamental skills and rules of basketball, baseball/softball, hockey/lacrosse, rugby and soccer.   Age and skill levels will be sorted into different groups whenever possible.

 

2018 Singer/Songwriter Camp

This camp is led by Kerry Patrick Clark,a singer/songwriter from Maumee who is known for performing a mixture of genres and time periods: today and yesterday, pop, folk, country, and Americana. His career highlights include: being a former member of the folk group, The New Christy Minstrels;  being the #1 charting folk artist of 2014; and having a #1 song as well as two #1 CDs on the Roots Music Reports Internet Folk.

This camp focuses on songwriting and things needed to perform (sound systems, promotion, touring, booking and will culminate in an acoustical performance by the students that family and friends will be invited to attend.  Sign up for this EXCITING NEW CAMP!!!

Preschool Creaturemania Week

The theme of the week is creatures of all sorts…Animals-pets and exotic, Insects-flying and crawling, and Creatures of your imaginations-funny and bizarre.

 

Imagination & Innovation Week

Location: Veteran’s Building in City Park

 

This week will be all about different types of science including fun and messy experiments, and some fun hands on STEM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Education).  This will allow campers to get more enjoyment and understanding out of all things science.

 

Wacky Summer Olympics Week

Location: Veteran’s Building in City Park

 

Campers will learn about the olympics and get to compete in some individual and team events of their own, including traditional and nontraditional wacky games and contests.

 

Preschool Cartoon & Comic Book Week

Location: Veteran’s Building in City Park

 

Kids will have all sorts of activities related to their TV shows, cartoons, movies, and comic books.  Campers will even get to dress up as their favorite character (or invent their own original interesting character) and star in their own skits developed and organized by the campers themselves.  Kids will get a copy of a DVD of the camp skits and short movies.

Wet-N-Wild

Wet-N-Wild week will be hot, hot, hot … we mean wet, wet, wet, and WILD! We plan on playing in the splash pad at the award winning City Pool! Artapalooza!

Campers will focus on making lots of art projects this week.  Be ready also to learn about and make some music.  On Friday parents can stop by the art festival/show that you will be putting on at Needle Hall.  Register now for an artistic good time!

All About Games Week

Location: Veteran’s Building in City Park

 

This week is all about all sorts of games.  Come participate in some familiar and not so familiar games with your fellow campers.  Games will include kid versions of popular TV shows like “Minute to Win It”;  Survivor; The Amazing Race, as well as bringing popular children’s board games and video games to life.  Kids will even have an opportunity to develop their own games and have other campers participate in them.

Preschool Wacky Summer Olympics Week

Campers will get to compete in some traditional and also some  nontraditional wacky games and contests.  Sure to be fun for everyone involved!  NOTE:  Parents and non camper families are invited and encouraged to come participate in our Family Fun Wacky Olympic Picnic hosted by BG Parks & Recreation Staff on Thursday, June 14th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.  Families can bring their picnic dinner and participate in some fun and wacky competition against other participants.

Girl Power Tween Camp

Location: Hanna Hall, Room 107Zonta Logo

 

This exciting camp is once again being held on campus thanks to a partnership with the Women’s Center. Some of the many things that participants will be exploring during the week are: etiquette, scrapbooking, rubber stamping, photography, health/wellness and nutrition, music, dance and many other fun games and activities. This is a great chance to learn something new and hang out with your friends as well as make some new ones! Girl Power Tween camp is sponsored by the Zonta Club of Bowling Green.

 

 

Glass Art Camp

Location: Bowling Green Community Center Classroom A/B

 

Instructor Gail Christofferson has gained national recognition with her mosaic projects.  Only one mosaic camp this year, so don’t miss out!  A combination of the old and the new:  Create an all-time-favorite Tic-Tac-Toe board and small mosaic window and then try new watercolor + mosaic + resin project!  Take home 3 creative projects again this year!
