Construction Update – Downtown Projects

Crews continue to work simultaneously to remove deteriorated sections of concrete base and install new concrete base along the southbound lanes of Main Street. Below is the anticipated pour schedule and traffic impacts for the next week:

• W. Washington intersection reopens Friday, July 26th.
• Ordway intersection scheduled to reopen Friday, July 26th
• W. Oak intersection scheduled to reopen Monday, July 29th
• Pearl & S. Main intersection will be poured Monday, July 29th and will reopen on Wednesday, July 31st
• On Tuesday, July 30th, southbound lanes of N. Main St. will be poured from W. Oak to W. Wooster

After the concrete base is poured, the contractor will apply the intermediate course of asphalt to the southbound lanes of North and South Main Street. Traffic will then be shifted to the west half of Main Street and a similar construction pattern will take place on the northbound lanes of North and South Main Street and then onto Wooster Street from Church St. to Prospect St.

After the intermediate course of asphalt is applied, the contractor will then begin the various concrete repairs along the sidewalks and ADA ramps. Once complete, the final surface course of asphalt will be applied. Weather dependent and progress of work, paving is anticipated to last through October.

The utility contractor is finishing the installation of water service and fire lines on West Wooster. This work is anticipated to last until the end of this week or possibly into next week. This will complete the utility portion of the Downtown project.

Another water line project on East Court Street from Main St. to Prospect St. will begin the week of July 29. This work is anticipated to last into September.

The timeline above is dependent upon progress of work and weather. Continued patience with the ongoing construction is appreciated. Questions about this work may be directed to the Engineering Division at 419-354-6227.
