Construction Update – Downtown Projects

The paving contractor has finished placing the intermediate course of asphalt along the western portion of Main Street, from Oak to Lehman.  Traffic will be transitioning onto the western portion of Main St.  Once traffic has been transitioned, the contractor will mill the east side of Main St.  When the entire area has been milled, OUPS will be called in to mark the underground utilities.  This process will take roughly 2 days.  It is anticipated that concrete base repairs will commence on the east side of Main St on August 13.

After base repairs are completed on the eastern portion of Main Street, an intermediate course of asphalt will be placed.  After the Black Swamp Arts Festival, the contractor plans to move onto Wooster Street from Church St. to Prospect St. and proceed in a similar manner.

After the entire project area has the intermediate course of asphalt applied, the contractor will then finish the various concrete repairs along the sidewalks and ADA ramps.  Once complete, the final surface course of asphalt will be applied.  Weather dependent and progress of work, paving is anticipated to last through October.

The separate water line project on East Court Street from Main St. to Prospect St. continues with the main line installation followed by water services and fire lines.  This work is anticipated to last into September.  During this process, access to City Lot 1 will be maintained as much as possible.

The timeline above is dependent upon progress of work and weather.  Continued patience with the ongoing construction is appreciated.  Questions about this work may be directed to the Engineering Division at 419-354-6227.
