The Bowling Green Firefighters Community Benefit Fund is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance in advancing and supporting the Bowling Green, OH community.
Mission
To enhance the quality of life by strengthening individual and family services, promoting public safety, supporting community programs, and providing educational assistance through scholarships and awards for those pursuing public safety education.
Current Fundraising Projects
The Bowling Green Firefighters Community Benefit Fund is working to raise funds for the following:
- 10-year Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Detectors: In 2022, the Bowling Green Fire Division had 105 calls for malfunctioning smoke or carbon monoxide detectors. Working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are essential fire safety tools in your home and they are the best way to prevent fire and carbon monoxide fatalities. Every home is required to have working smoke alarms, and most are also required to have carbon monoxide alarms. However, not every household can household maintain essential safety tools.
- Knox Home Boxes: These high-security exterior home key safes allow firefighters and paramedics to immediately enter buildings and property without forced entry damage or delay. This device was developed for residents with nonambulatory, chronically-ill, or special needs and homebound community members. The Bowling Green Fire Division currently has 48 Knox Home Boxes on loan with a growing waiting list. Knox Home Box Loan Application
- Scholarships for High School Students: The Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates a need to fill at least 28,000 firefighter positions by 2031. The Bowling Green Firefighters Community Benefit Fund hopes to make this career path easier for local students to pursue.

Upcoming Events and Activities
Annual Dave Molnar Memorial Golf Outing - August 25th, 2023
The Bowling Green Firefighters Local 2379 and Bowling Green Firefighters Community Benefit Fund are proud to announce the 5th annual Dave Molnar Memorial Golf Scramble. In 2019 this annual event started as a way to remember Dave, support his three young children, and contribute to local and national first responder mental health organizations. While those causes remain important to us, we also see great value in supporting future first responders. Local 2379 and the Community Benefit Fund are committed to provide scholarships to local High School Seniors who are continuing their education in the Fire and/or Emergency Medical Services field. This August 25th at 9:00am the Bowling Green Firefighters Community Benefit Fund will be hosting the Annual Dave Molnar Memorial Golf Scramble at Riverby Hills Golf Club in Bowling Green. In order for continued success in this event we are seeking sponsors for each of the holes and beverage cart sponsors, allowing us to maximize the proceeds to be contributed. If you prefer to contribute in another way, we are also looking for teams to participate in the outing and door prizes.
