Operation Phone Card Announcement
BOWLING GREEN—The City of Bowling Green, along with partners from the Ohio National Guard Family Readiness and the BGSU Veterans Assessment and Service Team, announce “Operation Phone Card” collection points at several Bowling Green locations.
The purpose of Operation Phone Card is to provide pre-paid phone cards to Bowling Green Guard Members, and their fellow Ohio service men and women, currently serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Donated cards can be dropped off at the Bowling Green Training and Community Center, City Park Pool, or the Rotary Nature Center in Wintergarden Park.
Mike Przysiecki, Natural Resources Specialist for the City, is spearheading this effort. Przysiecki, who has served overseas with the Ohio Air National Guard, notes that a phone call home is a cherished and often uplifting time for a service member. He also recognizes the importance for those waiting back at home. “For the wife waiting to hear from her husband or the child wanting to talk to his mother, these phone calls are a true gift during a difficult separation,” Przysiecki said. “Sometimes, it can make a world of difference on both ends of the phone line.”
