Specific information on the change has been included in utility bills.  This information, along with frequently asked questions about the process, is also on the web at www.bgohio.org.

Installation is being performed by HD Supply.  Employees will carry identification.  Those not home at the time of the HD representative visit will be left information about their electric meter conversion or be asked to contact HS Supply to schedule an appointment for meter conversion.

The Two-way Automated Communications System will allow the City to automatically read electric and water meters using power line carrier and fiber optic communications.  This will eliminate the need to manually read meters each month.  In addition to more efficient data collection, the system has many other benefits including accurate/timely meter readings, electric load management, electric outage detection, remote service disconnect/connect capabilities, and tamper detection.

Questions may be directed to the Utility Business Office at 419-354-6255.
