GIS Work Continues in BG

BOWLING GREEN—The City of Bowling Green has contracted with GIS Landmark to identify the GPS locations of City-owned water services and water valves.

Residents should be aware that GIS Landmark employees will be working around residential properties and, at times, be on residential property to collect physical locations of water service assets.  Those conducting the inventory will carry equipment that includes a large antenna.  Contractors will not be required to enter homes.

Crews are currently working in all wards of the City.  Work hours may, at times, exceed standard business hours with evening work concluding no later than 8:00 pm.

All employees carry photo identification.

The purpose of this inventory is to capture water assets for the city-wide Geographical Information System.
