Upcoming Public Meetings:

Classics on Main

Classics on Main car show will occur on July 9 from noon until 4:00 pm in downtown. The car show will take place along Main St., from Clay to Pearl, with Main St. being closed to traffic.  City parking lot 6, located next to the Senior Center, will also be closed.

Lot 2 Repaving

Preliminary work to repave City Parking Lot 2 will commence Friday, July 8, which will result in a partial closure of the lot.  This partial closure will resume Monday, July 11, and the lot will completely close for up to two weeks beginning July 12.  During the closures, parking permit holders for City Lot 2 will be authorized to park at 10-hour meters in any other metered city parking lot.

From the time of reopening to installation of the kiosk system, parking within Lot 2 will be free.  However, all other normal parking rules including 2-hour parking will be enforced.

Gypsy Lane Rd/Main Street work

The City of Bowling Green has contracted with Geddis Paving and Excavating for the construction of intersection improvements at South Main and Gypsy Lane.  The work will include:

  1. The addition of a left turn lane for westbound Gypsy Lane
  2. New signal poles, mast arms and signals
  3. New LED edge lit street name signs
  4. New pedestrian crossings, signals and countdown timers

Work is scheduled to begin on July 18 and is expected to last eight weeks, weather permitting.  East Gypsy Lane will be closed to thru traffic for 21 calendar days beginning July 18, with the detour route using Klotz Road and Napoleon Road.  Intermittent lane closures are possible on South Main Street throughout the project, but through traffic will be maintained at all times.

Lunch in the Park

The July 8 Lunch in the Park will feature food for sale from Pita Pit with musical entertainment by Chris Buzzelli performing on guitar.  The food and entertainment will begin at 11:30 and last until 1:00 pm.

Concert in the Park

Jeff Tucker Band – A Variety of Rock, Pop, Country, and Jazz will be the feature entertainment at this week’s Concert in the Park on July 10.  The performance will begin at 7:00 pm on the stage of Needle Hall in City Park.  Join title sponsor B.G. Zika Virus Presentation

BG Parks and Recreation will be hosting the Wood County Health District Epidemiologist, Connor Rittwage, and Health Educator, Jennifer Campos, who will be present information about the Zika virus on July 12 beginning 7:00 pm in the Simpson Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave.  The presentation will include an overview of the virus along with information about how it spreads, where it is found, symptoms and outcomes, and more.
