Electric Rates Effective January 1, 2010
The City completed an electric utility cost of service study, multiyear financial plan and rate review in 2008. Based on the results of this study, certain adjustments to electric rates were recommended over a four-year period to more accurately reflect the cost of providing service while keeping the municipal electric utility operating in sound financial condition.
The City of Bowling Green Board of Public Utilities approved and adopted a four-year electric rate plan. The first phase of the plan will be effective with utility statements rendered on or after July 1, 2009.
The City of Bowling Green Board of Public Utilities approved a modification to the power cost adjustment (PCA) rate effective with the January 1, 2010 billing cycle. The modification was necessary to clarify the City's intention to fully recover all of its actual power supply related costs incurred in a timely manner.
