Coverage Area Includes the City of Bowling Green and the BGSU Campus.
Bowling Green Fire Division has 48 full-time personnel.
Personnel are divided into three shifts (with exception to the Chief and Administrative Secretary).
Each shift works for an entire 24 hour period. This equates to 52 hours a week.
All personnel are required to maintain Fire Fighter II certification (The highest Fire Certification).
All personnel are also required to maintain a minimum EMS certification of EMT-B. Currently there are 21 Paramedics, 8 Intermediates, and 18 Basics.
The quality of fire protection available to the citizens of Bowling Green is evaluated by the Insurance Services Office (ISO). The insurance industry relies on ISO to determine insurance rates for business, industry, and homeowners. The Bowling Green Fire Division has earned an ISO Class 2 rating.
