Zoning Board of Appeals Minutes

June 9, 2010 at 7:30 p.m., City Administrative Services Building, 304 North Church Street, Bowling Green, OH 43402

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Calderon, Ennis, Waddle, Hess, Meyer,

                  and Reublin             

MEMBERS ABSENT:    Burton

All minutes of the meeting including all testimony pertaining to the variance requests were recorded by Joan Woessner, Court Reporter, Common Pleas Court, Courtroom Bowling Green, Ohio.  This record is on file and maybe transcribed for the public record.

Election of Officers:  Reublin was elected as Chair, Waddle as Vice-Chair and Ennis as Secretary.

The minutes of the April 14, 2010 meeting were approved as submitted. 

Requests for Variance

Tim Spitler, 132 ½ Leroy Avenue (zoned R-2 Single-Family Residential), has requested a variance to erect a 12’ x 24’ addition (deck).  Variances are requested to be able to:  1. Add to a non-conforming use and structure (this is non-conforming because there are 2 structures, used as dwellings, on one parcel) 2. Encroach 1’ into the required 10’ side yard to the east.

Meyer moved, Waddle seconded, that the request be approved.  Motion carried 4-2, with Hess and Calderon casting the negative vote.

Michael Josh Knauss, 312 Garden Court, has requested a variance to encroach 15’ into the required 30’ rear yard setback to construct a 15’ x 25’ addition to the east.

Meyer moved, Calderon seconded, that the request be approved. Motion carried 6-0.
