Special Programmer/Gym Monitor

Parks & Recreation Department

Part-Time, Temporary Position $8.10 per hour

 

The City of Bowling Green’s Parks & Recreation department is seeking qualified, dependable individuals for the positions of Special Programmer/Gym Monitor.  Responsible for Community Center gym monitoring, light custodial maintenance, set up and tear down in Community Center gym. Must be at least 18 years of age. Previous experience in “gym culture” helpful. Must be able to work under general supervision and have ability to lift 50 pounds. Must hold valid Ohio driver’s license and have First Aid and CPR certifications. Varied schedule including nights and weekends required.  Individuals hired will not be City of Bowling Green employees; employment will be payrolled through a temporary agency. Programmers (Fall Sports Programs)

Rate of Pay $8.10 per hour

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an individual to join the fall programming staff and work with boys and girls ages 3 ½ through 14.   The position will require flexible availability both mornings and afternoons with mainly weekend and evening assignments.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organizing and teaching/coaching multiple sport and recreational activities; and scorekeeping and officiating. Background in basketball and volleyball helpful; and a genuine interest in working with youth needed. The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Dept is seeking motivated outgoing individuals to be a part of the Community Center Fitness and Kiwanis Kids Club team as Programmers working as Fitness Desk Representatives, Kiwanis Kids Club Staff and Special Programmers working as Certified Personal Trainers! The responsibilities of these positions include greeting patrons, assisting patrons with exercise, caring for children, cleaning fitness equipment, ensuring rules are being followed, and providing first class customer service. Special Programmer / Facility Caretaker-$8.10 per hour

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Dept is seeking motivated outgoing individuals to open and close facilities. Experience with customer service in a park setting beneficial. Able to lift 25 pounds, must be 18 years of age. Complete assignments with minimal supervision. Duties include but not limited to:

  • Arrive 15 minutes before scheduled start time and open facilities for rentals.
  • Check set up sheet for all Simpson rentals to double check the room is set correctly and they have everything listed on the set up sheet.
  • Speak with person renting facility and help them with any questions about their rental facility upon check in.
  • Fill out and submit required paperwork.
  • Check doors, windows, thermostats and turn off lights.
  • Lock facilities at end of rental.

  • Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic –  Age Requirement for Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic shall be in accordance with Section 124.42 of the Ohio Revised Code.   Credit for Military Service shall be in accordance with Section 124.23 of the Ohio Revised Code.
