SECRETARY

Income Tax Division

(Pay Band 1:   $13.64 to $17.04 per hour)

(1 Full-time Hourly Position)

Hourly, full-time position responsible for providing overall administrative assistance and support in the Income Tax Office. Hours of work are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and may require some overtime during busy seasons. Screens visitors, calls, faxes, mail and messages; provides information; prepares correspondence, reports of a confidential or legally significant nature; maintains appointment schedules; copies and distributes written materials; composes and edits correspondence; maintains and orders supplies; maintains office filing system; performs and documents cash transactions; prepares bulk mailings and mail merge; enters W-2 data; performs data entry; and performs other duties as assigned. Experience and Educational Requirements: Two year associate degree or equivalent; 3 – 5 years progressive experience including senior level administration and clerical support; or any combination of education, training and work experience which provides the required skill sets to perform the essential functions of the job.  The Bowling Green City Pool and Water Park is seeking Concession Attendants to join the 2017 summer staff. Rate of pay is $8.15 per hour. These are part-time, temporary positions without fringe benefits. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends from mid-May to mid-September. Part-Time Seasonal Special Programmer-Park Monitor/Caretaker

 The City of Bowling Green’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking qualified, dependable individuals to monitor park areas, buildings, restrooms and athletic fields. Pay Range $8.15 to $10.00 per hour, no fringe benefits.   Individual will insure all park rules and policies are being followed, assist maintenance personnel, ensure playgrounds, skate park and athletic facilities are being used safely, and monitor potential problems, and complete written reports. Also responsible for opening and closing facilities for rentals and answering renter questions about the facility at the time of check in.

 Must be able to work a varied schedule including weekends. Experience working with patrons in a park setting  beneficial. Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift 25 pounds. PROGRAM SUPERVISOR – SPORTS

 Parks & Recreation, Temporary Part-Time

$9.25 per hour

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a mature, career minded individual to serve as Program Supervisor – Sports.  This is an hourly appointment beginning in the spring and continuing throughout the summer. The job will consist mostly of afternoon and evenings with an occasional weekend schedule.  Responsibilities  include, but are not be limited to, supervising all summer youth sports including our new lacrosse program, youth softball, Start Smart sport programs; youth volleyball camps, youth basketball camps, soccer camps and t-ball/softball leagues; assisting in day-to-day operations of Carter Park softball complex and sand volleyball leagues; assisting in routine park office duties; preparing necessary schedules and reports; all other duties as assigned by Sports Specialist.  Employee will be expected to work between 20-40 hours per week.  Hours will vary by assignment.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with experience in the recreation or sports management field; have demonstrated an ability to organize and supervise people of diverse backgrounds and interests; possess excellent written and oral skills; be computer literate; have demonstrated the sensitivity and ability to work within a public agency, and be willing to attend (at our cost) and be certified in Red Cross First Aid/CPR.  Successful applicant will present a positive image to the public.  It is desired that applicant either possess or be working towards a degree in recreation, sport management, or related field.

The City of Bowling Green’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking qualified, dependable individuals for its summer part-time seasonal maintenance staff. Pay range $8.15 – $11.25 per hour, no fringe benefits.   Must be able to work flexible schedule up to 40 hours per week for the full term of the temporary employment including evening and weekends. Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Experience with building custodial, grounds, aquatic facility, small tractor and/or softball field maintenance beneficial. Employment will be through a temporary agency. Individuals hired will not be City of Bowling Green employees.

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Dept is seeking motivated outgoing individuals to be a part of the Community Center Fitness and Kiwanis Kids Club team as Programmers working as Fitness Desk Representatives, Kiwanis Kids Club Staff and Special Programmers working as Certified Personal Trainers! The responsibilities of these positions include greeting patrons, assisting patrons with exercise, caring for children, cleaning fitness equipment, ensuring rules are being followed, and providing first class customer service.
