WATER DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

WATER DISTRIBUTION AND WASTEWATER COLLECTION DIVISION

 (BGEO Pay Grade 5:  $20.10 – $25.67 per hour)

Hourly position responsible for maintaining and repairing waterlines, valves, hydrants and service lines. Makes pressurized taps on mains; bores lines; installs, repairs, and flushes hydrants; locates/lays waterlines; installs meters; repairs breaks; operates backhoes, dump trucks, and other equipment; repairs black top and concrete; maintains vehicles/equipment; exercises valves; locates leaks. Work is performed outdoors in wet environment in prevailing weather conditions. Job description is available by clicking here. High school diploma or equivalent; Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) required; fork-lift certification; Class I OEPA Water Certification required within three years of hire; one to three years of relevant experience. Facility Caretaker-$8.10 to $11.25 per hour

 The City of Bowling Green’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking qualified, dependable individuals to assist with facility rentals.  Job duties include opening facilities, assisting renters upon check-in, checking and locking facilities after rentals, and performing onsite maintenance at some rentals.

Special Programmer-Park Monitor-$8.10 – $10.00 per hour

The City of Bowling Green’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking qualified, dependable individuals to monitor park areas, buildings, restrooms and athletic fields.    Individual will insure all park rules and policies are being followed, assist maintenance personnel, ensure playgrounds, skate park and athletic facilities are being used safely, monitor potential problems and complete written reports.  Must be able to work a varied schedule including weekends. Experience working with teenagers and with customer service in a park setting  beneficial. Summer Sports Programmers-$8.10 per hour

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an individual to join the late spring/summer programming staff and work with boys and girls ages 3 ½ through 14.   The position will require flexible availability with mainly afternoons, weeknights and some morning or weekend assignments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organizing and teaching/coaching multiple sport and recreational activities; and scorekeeping and officiating. Background in sports such as softball, t-ball, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, rugby and volleyball are helpful; and a genuine interest in working with youth needed.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with training or practical experience in working with youth, and must have the ability to relate to and motive young children.

The City of Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Programmers to conduct day camps, nature camps, and Safety Town for children aged 3 ½ to 12 years of age. Pay is $8.10 per hour. Pay Range $8.10 – $11.00 per hour depending on position. These are part-time, temporary positions without fringe benefits.

Pay Range $8.10 – $11.25 per hour, no fringe benefits. Must be able to work flexible schedule up to 40 hours per week for the full term of the temporary employment including evening and weekends. The City of Bowling Green is accepting applications for “School Police” (Adult Crossing Guards). Candidates for “Substitute School Police” must be available to work at any of the City’s designated school crossings given short notice. The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Dept is seeking motivated outgoing individuals to be a part of the Community Center Fitness and Kiwanis Kids Club team as Programmers working as Fitness Desk Representatives, Kiwanis Kids Club Staff and Special Programmers working as Certified Personal Trainers! The responsibilities of these positions include greeting patrons, assisting patrons with exercise, caring for children, cleaning fitness equipment, ensuring rules are being followed, and providing first class customer service.
