PART-TIME RECREATION ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

 (Pay Band 1 – $14.70/Hour)

 

Part-time, non-bargaining hourly position is responsible for customer service at the Community Center and other P&R facilities.  Prepares reports; handles money; performs data entry; must be proficient in computer software: Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, RecTrac or other registration software; website management.  Two-year associate degree or equivalent; three to five years administrative/clerical support experience; must have ability to drive. Hours will generally be 20 – 28 hours per week; Winter hrs  M – F 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.; Summer hrs M – F 4:30 – 8:30 p.m.  Weekend rotation shifts:  Saturday 7:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. and Sunday 9:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.  Job descriptions are available by clicking here. TEMPORARY, PART-TIME AND/OR SEASONAL POSITIONS

 

 

 

Summer Sports Programmers-$8.10 per hour

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an individual to join the late spring/summer programming staff and work with boys and girls ages 3 ½ through 14.   The position will require flexible availability with mainly afternoons, weeknights and some morning or weekend assignments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organizing and teaching/coaching multiple sport and recreational activities; and scorekeeping and officiating. Background in sports such as softball, t-ball, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, rugby and volleyball are helpful; and a genuine interest in working with youth needed.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with training or practical experience in working with youth, and must have the ability to relate to and motive young children.

SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMMERS
The City of Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Programmers to conduct day camps, nature camps, and Safety Town for children aged 3 ½ to 12 years of age. Pay is $8.10 per hour. These are part-time, temporary positions without fringe benefits. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends through August with no vacations or long weekends.

The Bowling Green City Pool and Water Park is seeking  certified Lifeguards, and certified WSI Instructors to join its 2016 summer staff. Pay Range $8.10 – $11.00 per hour depending on position. These are part-time, temporary positions without fringe benefits.

Substitute School Police Adult Crossing Guards (Pay $11.65 per crossing worked, Not to Exceed $34.95 per day)

The City of Bowling Green is accepting applications for “School Police” (Adult Crossing Guards). Candidates for “Substitute School Police” must be available to work at any of the City’s designated school crossings given short notice. Information about the crossings will be provided with the application. These are part-time, temporary positions without fringe benefits, except for membership in OPERS. The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Dept is seeking motivated outgoing individuals to be a part of the Community Center Fitness and Kiwanis Kids Club team as Programmers working as Fitness Desk Representatives, Kiwanis Kids Club Staff and Special Programmers working as Certified Personal Trainers! The responsibilities of these positions include greeting patrons, assisting patrons with exercise, caring for children, cleaning fitness equipment, ensuring rules are being followed, and providing first class customer service. These positions are part-time temporary positions staffed through a temporary agency with no fringe benefits. Individuals hired are not city employees.   • Police Officer –  Age Requirement for Police Officer  shall be in accordance with Section 124.41 of the Ohio Revised Code. Credit for Military Service shall be in accordance with Section 124.23 of the Ohio Revised Code.
  • Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic – Age Requirement for Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic shall be in accordance with Section 124.42 of the Ohio Revised Code.   Credit for Military Service shall be in accordance with Section 124.23 of the Ohio Revised Code.
