Part time-seasonal positions for BG City Pool and Water Park

Bowling Green Parks & Recreation

The Bowling Green City Pool and Water Park is seeking a Swim Program Director, Aquatic Assistant Managers, Concession Managers, Concession/Pool Attendants, certified Lifeguards, certified Water Safety Instructors (WSI), and Swim Aides to join the 2018 summer staff. Pay Range $8.30 – $11.00 per hour depending on position. These are part-time, temporary positions without fringe benefits. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends beginning in mid May.

Summer Recreation Staff

Part-Time Seasonal Positions for Bowling Green Parks & Recreation

Work in a fun environment while enhancing the lives of the children and families in our community!  The City of Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Programmers and Program Supervisors to conduct day camps, sports camps, nature camps, and Safety Town for children aged 3 ½ to 12 years of age. Pay is $8.30 – $11.00 per hour depending on position, education, and previous experience. Ideal candidates are pursuing degrees or already have degrees in Education, Recreation, Sport Management, Physical Education, Nature/Outdoor Education, etc. but other applicants will be considered based on relevant experience, education, and enthusiasm.  Hours are primarily Monday through Friday in mornings and afternoons, but some opportunities to assist with evening and weekend events will occur.  Camps run from the beginning of June through the beginning of August.  These are part-time, temporary positions without fringe benefits.  Employment will be through a temporary agency.  Individuals hired will not be City of Bowling Green employees.

PROGRAMMER / PROGRAM SUPERVISOR – SPORTS

 $8.30 to $9.40 per hour

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a mature, career minded individual to serve as a Programmer or Program Supervisor – Sports.  The job will consist mostly of an evenings and weekends schedule.

Responsibilities include supervising all winter youth sports including our basketball, dodgeball, start smart sport programs; youth after school programs; adult volleyball/basketball leagues and other duties as assigned by Sports Specialist.  Employee will be expected to work between 5-10 hours per week.   Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with experience in the recreation or sports management field; have demonstrated an ability to organize and supervise people of diverse backgrounds and interests; possess excellent written and oral skills; be computer literate; have demonstrated the sensitivity and ability to work within a public agency, and be willing to attend (at our cost) and be certified in Red Cross First Aid/CPR.  Successful applicant will present a positive, pleasant image to the public.  It is desired that applicant either possess or be working towards a degree in recreation, sport management, or related field.

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Dept is seeking motivated outgoing individuals to be a part of the Community Center Fitness and Kiwanis Kids Club team as Programmers working as Fitness Desk Representatives, Kiwanis Kids Club Staff and Special Programmers working as Certified Personal Trainers! The responsibilities of these positions include greeting patrons, assisting patrons with exercise, caring for children, cleaning fitness equipment, ensuring rules are being followed, and providing first class customer service. These positions are part-time temporary positions staffed through a temporary agency with no fringe benefits. Individuals hired are not city employees.   • Police Officer –  Age Requirement for Police Officer  shall be in accordance with Section 124.41 of the Ohio Revised Code. Credit for Military Service shall be in accordance with Section 124.23 of the Ohio Revised Code.
  • Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic –  Age Requirement for Firefighter/EMT/EMT-I/Paramedic shall be in accordance with Section 124.42 of the Ohio Revised Code.   Credit for Military Service shall be in accordance with Section 124.23 of the Ohio Revised Code.
