March Madness Spring Break Camp

Location: Bowling Green Community Center

 

*$6 Late Fee After 3/1/18*

Kids will get an opportunity to take part in their own fun day of March Madness at the BG Community Center.  We will have plenty of fun activities at the Community Center including a pizza party, gym activities, Minute-To-Win-It Games, a movie, snack, and some supervised play time with friends.  Lunch and snack will be provided.  Kids must bring tennis shoes for gym activities.
$12 Resident/  $15 Nonresident
Open to boys and girls, ages 5 to 12 years.  Spaces are    limited so register early!
Registration Deadline is Thursday March 1, 2018.  $6 late fee after that date.

 

Get Ahead Basketball Training

Location:  Bowling Green Community Center

Grades:  5-8

5th-12th grade boys and girls can prepare for upcoming basketball seasons with instructor, Steve Cramer this fall. This 8 week, 75 minute program includes basketball specific conditioning, high intensity skill development and game play.
Learn proven game applicable moves
• Manipulate defensive players off the ball and in triple threat
• Learn specific moves to finish around the basket against tough defenders
• Creating your own workout
• Develop proper shooting technique and game situation drills
• Jump Rope basics and improving quickness
• Advanced and beginner game situations reads.
• And more…Participants are asked to bring basketball shoes and a positive working attitude. Participants who give their best effort will receive improved results! All players will receive a FREE jump rope and $10 off any Cramer Basketball Camp the summer of 2018!  NOTE: If unable to make every session contact Coach Cramer regarding a possible makeup.
8th grade athletes have the choice to attend either group.

 

Introduction to Volleyball Skills

Location:  Bowling Green Community Center

Ages: 3-5
Dates: 3/1/18 – 4/12/18
Times:  5:15PM – 6:00PM
Cost (Res/NRes):  $51/$60

Developmentally appropriate introductory program for children three to five years old that prepares them for organized volleyball in a fun, non-threatening environment.  This program prepares children and their parents for organized volleyball programs without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.  Parents and children work one-on-one during this six week class.  Children will receive a t-shirt.  Parents and children who are participating must bring a clean pair of  tennis shoes for this program.  Program will be held at The Bowling Green Community Center.  A facilitator will be on hand.

 

Volleyball Skills (K-2)

Location:  Bowling Green Community Center

Grades: K-2
Dates: 3/14/18 – 4/18/18
Times: 4:00PM – 5:00PM
Cost (Res/NRes):  $42/$51

Boys and girls will participate one time/week in this introductory volleyball program.  This program will introduce the game of volleyball to participants in grades K-2 through fun activities and games.  Players will be taught rules, terminology and basic fundamentals of the game.  Participants are asked to wear a clean pair of tennis shoes.  All participants will receive a t-shirt.  Program will be instructed by BGSU women’s club volleyball players.

 


Youth Volleyball League

Location: Bowling Green Community Center

Grades: 3-4; 5-6
Dates: 2/26/18-4/28/18
Time: 4:00PM – 8:00PM
Cost (Res/NRes): $51/$60 ($6 Late Fee After 2/18/18)

This league will consist of one practice per week and Saturday games. The Youth Volleyball League is for children currently in grades 3-6.  The league will be split into two divisions (3rd and 4th grade, 5th and 6th grade).  The skills clinic assessments dates are Tuesday February 20th 6-7PM OR Saturday, February 24th 9-10AM for 3rd-4th graders (choose to attend one).  Practice nights of availability for 3rd-4th graders are Mondays 4,5,6 or 7PM.  Practices will begin the week of February 26th.  Games begin March 17th and the last date for games is Saturday, April 28th.  Players are required to bring knee pads and a clean pair of tennis shoes.  Each participant will receive a t-shirt.  There are no games Easter weekend (April 1st).  $6 late fee will be assessed after the 2/18/18 registration deadline (requests not guaranteed).  Volunteer Coaches are needed for this program. Coaches are trained through the NYSCA program at the Bowling Green Community Center in classroom A/B (Monday, February 21st at 6PM).

 

Spring D-League Soccer

Location:   Dunbridge Soccer Fields

 

Developmental league will be managed by the Bowling Green Soccer Club.  Participants will learn from current division one college players and coaches and have fun in the process!  Program length is seven week.  Participants will begin practice on 3/26/28 and games will begin on 4/7/18.  All practices will be held at Dunbridge Field.  3 and 4 year olds practice Mondays 5:30-6:15Pm and games will be on Saturdays at 9AM.  5 and 6 year olds practice Mondays 6:35-7:30PM and games will be on Saturdays at 10:15AM.  7 through 9 year olds practice Mondays 5:30-6:15PM and games will be on Saturdays at 9AM.  10 through 14 year olds practice Mondays 6:35-7:30PM and games will be on Saturdays at 10:15AM.  Volunteers are also welcome to be involved as coaches/assistants during games and practices.  Players are required to wear shin guards and bring their own soccer balls to practice and games.  Cost includes t-shirt.

 

 

Winter Dodgeball

Session I & II

These six week programs will run on Fridays from 3:45-5:15PM.  Teams consisting of 3rd-5th graders, will be randomly assorted every week.  A weekly drop in rate of $7 may be considered if numbers permit.  A supervisor will be on hand to officiate and supervise all participants.  Soft, gator-skin dodgeballs will be used.

 

 

Tennis Clinic Age 4-6

Location:  Veteran’s Building in City Park

The Bowling Green Community Tennis Association will hold an introductory tennis skills clinic for children ages 4,5 and 6.  This 6 week clinic will cover the fundamentals of tennis as well as develop motor skills relating to the sport. Low compression tennis balls are used and loaner racquets are available on site.  Parents are encouraged to be present with the child during the lessons.  The Bowling Green Community Tennis Association will lead the clinic.

 

Tennis Clinic Age 7-9

Location:  Veteran’s Building in City Park

The Bowling Green Community Tennis Association will hold an introductory tennis skills clinic for children ages 7,8 and 9.  This 6 week clinic will cover the fundamentals of tennis as well as develop motor skills relating to the sport.
