Get Ahead Basketball

Join Skill Coach, Steve Cramer in some small group basketball skill lessons.  Participate in cutting edge, dynamice drills designed for players to enjoy and understand the process of improvement all at once.  Improve shooting accuracy, develop footwork and focus on skills specific to your game.  Steve Cramer is a former professional basketball player in Germany and Slovakia (2007-2011) and Hope College All-American (2003-2007).  He has directed camps, clinics and individual lessons for players of all levels since 2008. Lessons are limited to 9 participants per hour.

 

Youth T-Ball

Youth T-ball program for children ages 5-6 (must be 5 by 5/15/17).  Each participant will receive a cap and t-shirt.    Participants must bring their own ball glove.   Other equipment is provided, however participants may be allowed to bring their own Tball bats and helmets (if approved).  Practices leading up to games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at either 5PM or later beginning May 16th.  Practices will be 45 minutes long.  T-ball games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning June 5th.  Game times are 5PM or later (subject to change based on the number of teams). Games are subject to rainouts and makeup games will be scheduled for the week of July 24th.  Volunteer coaches are needed. Any volunteer coaches must attend the coaches meeting  on Thursday, May 4th at 6:30PM, located at the Bowling Green Community Center (Classroom A).  Coaches are asked to complete and application and pass background checks prior to coaching.

 

 

Start Smart T-Ball

Developmentally appropriate introductory program for children ages three to five years old that prepares them for organized T-Ball/Baseball in a fun, non-threatening environment.  This program prepares children and their parents for organized T-ball/baseball programs without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.  Parents and children work one-on-one during this six week class.  Children will receive a Start Smart Tball Shirt.  The program will be held at Eli Joyce Ball Diamond in City Park.  In case of inclement weather, the program will be held indoors at The Bowling Green Community Center (1245 W. Newton Road).   A facilitator will be on hand.

 

Youth Softball

Youth Lacrosse Skills Clinics

Boys and girls will participate twice a week in this introductory lacrosse program.  Participants ages 7-12 will be introduced to  the game of lacrosse through fun activities and games.  Players will be taught rules, terminology and basic fundamentals of the game (how to scoop, toss, catch and cradle).  Participants are asked to bring outdoor tennis shoes and a water bottle.   Starter sticks and other equipment are provided or participants may bring their own.  The program will be instructed by BGSU men’s club lacrosse players.

 

 

Volleyball Skills (K-2)

D-League Soccer (Spring)

Developmental league to be managed by the Bowling Green Soccer Club.   Participants will learn from current division one college players and coaches and have fun in the process!  Program will consist of 7 weeks of practice with 7 games. Practices will begin on 3/27/17 and games will begin on 4/1/17.  All practices and games will be held at Dunbridge Field.  3 and 4 year olds practice Mondays 5:30-6:15PM and games will be on Saturdays at 10:15 AM.    5 and 6 year olds practice Mondays 6:45-7:45PM and games will be on Saturdays at 9AM.  7 through 9 year olds practice Mondays 6:45PM-7:45PM and games will be on Saturdays at 9AM.  10 through 14 year olds practice will be Mondays on 5:30PM-6:45PM and games will be on Saturdays at 10:15AM.  Volunteers are also welcome to be involved as coaches/assistants during games and practices. Players are required to wear shin guards and bring their own soccer ball to practices and games.  Cost includes t-shirt.

 

Youth Volleyball Leagues

Location: Bowling Green Community Center

This league will consist of one practice per week and Saturday games. The Youth Volleyball League is for children currently in grades 3-6.  The league will be split into two divisions (3rd and 4th grade, 5th and 6th grade).  The skills clinic assessment date is Tuesday February 21st from 6-7PM for 5th-6th graders and Wednesday February 22nd 6-7PM for 3rd-4th graders.  Practice nights of availability for 3rd-4th graders are Mondays 4,5,6 or 7PM.  Practices will begin the week of February 27th.  Games begin March 18th and the last date for games is Saturday, April 29th.  Players are required to bring knee pads and a clean pair of tennis shoes.  Each participant will receive a t-shirt.  There are no games Easter weekend (April 15th).  $6 late fee will be assessed after the 2/18/17 registration deadline.  Volunteer Coaches are needed for this program. Coaches are trained through the NYSCA program at the Bowling Green Community Center in classroom A/B (Monday, February 13th at 7PM).

 

Dodgeball

Location: Bowling Green Community Center

Session I & II

This six week program will run on Fridays from 3:45- 5:15pm.  Teams, consisting of 3rd-5th graders, will be randomly assorted every week.  A weekly drop in rate of $7 may be considered if numbers permit. A supervisor will be on hand to officiate and supervise all participants.  Soft, gator-skin dodgeballs will be used.  Session II of dodgeball begins 2/17/17.
