These five week programs will run on Fridays from 3:45p-5:15p.  Teams consisting of 3rd-5th graders, will be randomly assorted every week.  A weekly drop-in rate of $7 may be considered if numbers permit.  A supervisor will be on hand to officiate and supervise all participants.  Soft, gator-skin dodgeballs will be used.


 

 

 

Get Ahead Basketball

Join Skill Coach, Steve Cramer in some small group basketball skill lessons.  Participate in cutting edge, dynamice drills designed for players to enjoy and understand the process of improvement all at once.  Improve shooting accuracy, develop footwork and focus on skills specific to your game.  Steve Cramer is a former professional basketball player in Germany and Slovakia (2007-2011) and Hope College All-American (2003-2007).  He has directed camps, clinics and individual lessons for players of all levels since 2008. Lessons are limited to 9 participants per hour.

A fun introductory sports class for boys and girls ages 3-5.  Through a range of developmentally appropriate activities, children are introduced to some of the fundamentals of basketball, t-ball, and indoor soccer.  Parents are encouraged to attend with their children.


 

 

March Madness Shootout

Participants will shoot free throws and three pointers for one total score.  Participants will be broken down into age groups.  Special hoops are available for the youngest participants. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each group. Participants will register on site the day of the event.

Program runs from February 11th to March 18th.

 

The Bowling Green Community Tennis Association will hold an introductory tennis skills clinic for children ages 4-9.  This 6 week clinic will cover the fundamentals of tennis as well as develop motor skills relating to the sport. Low compression tennis balls are used and loaner racquets are available on site.  Parents are encouraged to be present with the child during the lessons.  The Bowling Green Community Tennis Association will lead the clinic.

Skills Clinic: February 17th & 24th 6:30p-7:30p for grades 3 & 4.  7:30p-8:30p for grades 5 & 6.

Practice begins March 2nd & 5th for grades 3 & 4.  March 3rd & 5th for grades 5 & 6.

Games will be held on Saturdays starting 3/21/15.  The will be no games on 4/4 & 4/11.

 

This eleven week program will consist of one practice per week and Saturday games. The Youth Volleyball League is for children currently in grades 3-6.  The league will be split into two divisions (3rd and 4th grade, 5th and 6th grade).  A pre-season skills clinic is available for those who sign up on or before the day of the clinics.  Clinic dates and times: Feb. 17th and Feb. 24th, 6:00-7:00PM for grades 3 and 4 and 7:00-8:00 for grades 5 and 6. Practice nights of availability are Mondays 4,5,6 or 7PM.  Due to the high volume of registrants, Thursday 4 or 5PM may be an alternate practice time.  Practices will begin the week of March 2nd.  Games begin March 21st and the last date for games is Saturday, May 2nd.  Players are required to bring knee pads and a clean pair of tennis shoes.  Each participant will receive a t-shirt.  There are no games Easter weekend (April 4th).  $6 late fee will be assessed after the 2/16/2015 registration deadline.  Volunteer Coaches are needed for this program. Coaches are trained through the NYSCA program at the Bowling Green Community Center in classroom A/B (coaches are asked to attend one of two dates: Thursday, February 19th or Wednesday, February 25th from 6-8pm).

Developmentally appropriate introductory program for children three to five years old that prepares them for organized volleyball in a fun, non-threatening environment.  This program prepares children and their parents for organized volleyball programs without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt.  Parents and children work one-on-one during this six week class.  Children will receive a t-shirt.  Parents and children who are participating must bring a clean pair of  tennis shoes for this program.  Program will be held at The Bowling Green Community Center.  A facilitator will be on hand.

Boys and girls will participate one time/week in this introductory volleyball program.  This program will introduce the game of volleyball to participants in grades K-2 through fun activities and games.  Players will be taught rules, terminology and basic fundamentals of the game.  Participants are asked to wear a clean pair of tennis shoes.  All participants will receive a t-shirt.
