Civil Service Commission

The Bowling Green Civil Service Commission is a three-member commission tasked with ensuring City compliance with Civil Service rules and regulations.   Click here to access the Employment Opportunities page.  The Commission is responsible for administering entry-level and promotional examinations for ranked positions with the Police and Fire Division. The Commission also approves job descriptions and classifications for inclusion in the City’s class plan. The Commission is also responsible for holding hearings relating to disciplinary actions relating to classified personnel. BG Civil Service Commission to Meet March 25, 2017

Bowling Green – The Bowling Green Civil Service Commission will meet at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017. The meeting will be held in the Wood County Senior Citizens Center, which is located at 305 North Main Street, Bowling Green, Ohio. The purpose of the meeting is to administer an entry-level written examination for Police Officer. The Commission will take action following the examination to establish a passing test score, and to establish a list of candidates eligible for hire to classification of Police Officer.  The Commission will take the action necessary to establish certified lists to fill positions, as necessary. The Commission will also address any requests to modify, add, or abolish job descriptions.
